AI Content Engineer C1M.ai | Remote | Part-Time with Full-Time Potential

The role of an AI Content Engineer sits at the crossroads of editorial judgment and AI systems thinking. You’ll be responsible for preparing, organizing, and refining the knowledge base that powers our clients’ AI agents, and then work alongside our developers to make sure those agents sound exactly right.

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Gather and review client documentation for contradictions, redundancies, and gaps
• Arrange for missing content to be created — either by the client or internally
• Scrub and editorially prepare documents for use as AI training material
• Write initial brand voice prompts that capture a client’s tone and personality
• Work with developers to refine how that voice gets expressed through the system
• Generate and run QA question sets to test agent knowledge and accuracy
• Fill content gaps identified during QA by writing new material or consulting the client
• Conduct pre-launch testing across edge cases, ambiguous queries, multi-step questions, slang, sarcasm, and more
• Monitor agent outputs post-launch and maintain an iterative feedback loop with developers
• Conduct regular reviews of agent memory to catch contradictions, redundancies, and drift
• Keep knowledge base documents and brand voice materials current over time
• Support model updates by testing new versions and adjusting prompts as needed 

Skills and Qualifications 

• Strong editorial instincts — you can read a document set and immediately spot what’s missing or inconsistent
• Ability to write in someone else’s voice and translate brand personality into AI prompting language
• Comfort working with LLMs and AI tools as part of a daily workflow
• Analytical mindset with an eye for logical coherence across large bodies of content
• Organized and self-directed. Able to manage multiple client workstreams remotely
• Clear communicator who can keep developers, project managers, and clients aligned
• Experience in content strategy, technical writing, or information architecture is a plus
• Familiarity with AI agent systems or prompt engineering is a significant advantage 

Education and Background 

A background in communications, information systems, content strategy, or a related field is helpful context. 

Requirements for This Position 

C1M is a remote-first company with a globally distributed team.   

Team members work flexible schedules but should be available for occasional video meetings during Central Time business hours. 

Comfort with AI tools — particularly large language model interfaces — is essential.
