The Challenge
The Gilliam family has deep roots in Southwest Virginia, where Richard and Leslie Gilliam were both born and raised. It was also in Southwest Virginia that they owned and operated a coal mining company, Cumberland Resources Corporation. To share the blessings they received by working and living in Southwest Virginia, Leslie and Richard launched the Gilliam Family Foundation. The focus was to help fund community programs and initiatives in the region.
The challenge that faced the family was the lack of a web presence from which those seeking financial grants could contact the foundation.
Our Approach
The Gilliam Family Foundation reached out to the C1M team to create a website. After learning about the foundation’s community focus and their specific needs and desires during a project kick-off call, the C1M team developed a full Brandscript, an internal document used to capture and define the client’s business and voice. The Brandscript was used to write the Foundation content used on the website. This was done to ensure that the website provided clear information on the types of grants the foundation offered, the eligibility rules, and how to apply for a grant. The final step was the graphic design of the website.
C1M was able to help The Gilliam Family Foundation with the following services:
- Full Brandscript
- Foundation Content
- Website
- Website Management
The client is pleased with the results and C1M celebrated the completion of another successful project. We love supporting organizations that promote community service. We look forward to maintaining our relationship with The Gilliam Family Foundation while we manage and maintain their website.
